Saturday night was our first time at The Refuge, for my niece's birthday. Leilani was our server. She was fantastic! She was extremely attentive, and upbeat! She made sure my niece had a really fun celebration! The restaurant has such a unique menu! We all ordered something different. And everything was delicious! Thank you Leilani, for making our experience so memorable, that we can't wait to visit again!
Located in the middle of Melville, one of the must go restaurant. The REFUGE offers Latin American and Italian variety of delicious dishes. Wonderful atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff. The restaurant is spotless and has many parking spaces. We went as a group of 14 people. Our table was ready for us and we enjoyed every moment we were there.
Friendly staff. Marlin was very kind and always made sure I was taken care of. I went for their barkin brunch and it was busy so service was slower than usual, but again that is to be expected when it’s super busy and there is an event. Bloody Mary’s are on point. They have a lot of events that are dog friendly so sign me up. If you have pets, check out those events and I recommend going :)

Our son’s rehearsal dinner was held at The Refuge in Melville, and it exceeded every expectation. We had 35 guests, and from the moment we arrived until the end of the evening, everything was flawless. The food was absolutely outstanding. First time coming to the refuge for barkin brunch! The tiramisu stuffed french toast was so delicious!! I’d definitely come back with my dogs and order different items! The outdoor seating area was cute and very spacious for a night or afternoon out with friends and the dogs! I wish I took a picture of my French toast but I ate it so fast 😅
The restaurant is very big and spacious. They also have an area for private parties. The food is a good portion and delicious. I had the crispy shrimp poboy but my friends had the pasta with chicken, meatballs and sausage. That was really good.
We had such a great experience, and a huge part of that was thanks to Val. From the moment we sat down, she was warm, attentive, and truly hospitable. She had an incredible ability to recommend dishes based on exactly what we were in the mood for, and every recommendation was on point. The Spicy Rigatoni with the Fried Burrata that she suggested for me was absolutely amazing. You can tell she pays attention to detail and genuinely cares about the guest experience because she was more than accommodating with everything we needed throughout dinner. As someone who works in the hospitality industry myself, I notice service, and Val delivered A+ service across the board. She truly helped make my niece’s graduation dinner feel special and memorable. And to top it all off, the cafecito/cappuccino with the tres leches afterwards hit the spot perfectly. Amazing food, amazing service, and an amazing night overall. Thanks again Val!
